Bottari
We are living in volumes not planes; when carving stone I can open up the surface to a greater variety of perceptual sensations, reaching back to geological origins in terms of material and let the raw stone interplay with the smooth tension of the polished form. What I carve has to do with experience and my emotional memory. I want to create windows where there once were walls and breaking down distinctions between art and life. My objective is not to present perfection or reflection but rather to approach the work as a hinge of an idea.
