Virginia Wolf Sculpture
sculpture photo: broken wing
Sculpture for me is light, shadow, space and touch. When working with stone I can open up the surface to a greater variety of perceptual sensations, reaching back to geological origins in terms of material, and let the corrosive raw stone interplay with the smooth tension of the polished form. What I carve has to do with experience and my emotional memory. My objective is not to present perfection or reflection but rather to approach the work as a hinge of an idea.
